About
MKM Management Consulting supports the Greening of America and our planet.
We are connecting individuals and organizations to the green economy in its effort to create sustainable organizations and
businesses.

What is all the talk about GREEN?
There is a real understanding that the new economy will be a green economy. One that values and profits from recycling, reusing and
reducing waste and pollution.  Now that President Obama and congress have moved the greening of the planet into the center of the
recovery effort, companies are more conscious of the customers desire for a more sustainable environment for themselves and
future generations.  Creating what is called a
triple bottom line (people, planet, profit) for companies just makes good sense.

Where can I get more information?
There are all kinds of organizations who have been working on green industries, environmental justice, green economies,
sustainable business practices for a long time.  Check out a few of my favorite organizations.

How do I become green?
Becoming more green is finding creative ways to recycle, reuse and reduce.

RECYCLE – Every community has recycling initiatives.  Check out your city or county website for information on where you can take
your paper, bottles, can, and plastics.  Local recycling companies will pick up recycling from your business and sometimes pay you
for the privilege.

REUSE – Using things over again or finding new uses is good for the environment and can be creative fun.  Traditionally, our family
uses jars for drinking glasses.  Artists have some very creative ways of reusing things to make beautiful art pieces, jewelry and gift
items.  I was once given a pair of earrings made of puzzle pieces.  They were absolutely beautiful.

REDUCE – There are lots of ways you can reduce the trash that you and your family or business create.  Buy products with less
packaging.  Using real dishes instead of paper or Styrofoam plates and plastic utensils is another way to reduce. Reduce energy
consumption by using energy efficient light bulbs, turning off electrical appliances, weatherizing your home or building.  Replacing old
appliances and equipment with energy star appliances, heating and cooling equipment will dramatically reduce consumption.
