Strategic Planning Basics
Take ten giant steps instead of five baby steps.
When it works, strategic planning is a creative and participatory
process that engenders new insights and helps organizations
pursue their mission with renewed vigor and commitment.
This workshop will provide hands-on
practice with the fundamental tools and techniques of strategic
planning. Participants will explore the motivation, group
dynamics and other issues that are critical to successful
planning. Participants are asked to bring a small project
to practice for the planning process. Topics include:
- Discover the value of your organization’s values
- Revisiting mission and vision in ways that get you the
BIG “Ah-Ha”s
- Collecting data that gives you the information you need
- Moving from the potential to the now through situational
analysis
- Finding the key actions that take you ten giant steps
toward your vision.
- Learn to create SMART goals and objectives and strategic
change
- Learn about processes that create living plans that get
implemented and work instead of collect dust.
- Discover the value of Evaluation: Knowing when you’ve

Getting Ready for Strategic
Planning

Advanced Facilitation Training
1.5 day format
This workshop is designed for
experienced facilitators who want to expand their ability
to create an environment where real work gets done with
teams, groups and organizations. The seminar is designed
to augment the facilitator’s existing knowledge base by
offering additional theoretical frameworks and approaches;
working with self awareness, presence, and group dynamics.
This seminar provides a safe and highly interactive process
for practice, application, and experimentation.
Cultural Competence in the
Work Place
The complexities of globalization require that we go beyond
sensitivity to culture, race and ethnicity, gender, class
and sexual orientation. This workshop supports participants
in getting in touch and making contact with the underpinnings
of our assumptions and our culture so that we are confident
in being able to honor differences, accept mistakes and
understand our reactions to the circumstances that we find
ourselves. Special attention is paid to the American experience
of prejudice and racism, its context and its current subtleties
and impact on people of color in business settings.
For nonprofit and governmental agencies, special attention
is alsp given to client-provider dynamics.
